Good morning and Happy Memorial Day to all of you at home, but especially to those we honor today: the men and women who gave their lives defending people like you and me. So whenever you're out doing whatever it is you're doing today -- hopefully something fun with friends and family because we all need it -- please take some time to remember and honor and think of all the people who died serving in our armed forces. Yeah today is also the unofficial start to summer and the first good sunburn, but what's summer without the freedoms we have, thanks to all who gave that ultimate sacrifice. Now for the big news from the weekend and what's ahead:   Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning won "The Match." There's so much to say about Sunday's highly-anticipated golf match between Tiger Woods/Peyton Manning and Phil Mickelson/Tom Brady; so much to say, I think we'll do it in another post a little later this morning because I don't want to leave anything out. In the meantime, here's Tom Brady, who knows a thing or two about football, crapping on Tennessee football: Love to see it.   Live NASCAR was also on television. Brad Keselowski won the Coca-Cola 600 in comeback fashion, stealing the fame and glory and trophy and Coke from Chase Elliott in the final laps, according to my Google search for NASCAR results. The internet tells me Elliott pitted and Keselowski did not, resulting in Keselowski's big victory in Charlotte. (I really need to learn how NASCAR works.)   Four-star linebacker Jaydon Hood to announce his decision today and Kentucky is in the mix. One of the best high school linebackers in the entire country will make his commitment today and (*wipes glasses*) Kentucky is a finalist. Hood is also considering Michigan, Miami and Minnesota in his group of finalists, and speculation is the Wolverines will win out in the end. It helps that some of his teammates have already committed there. A product of the great and free-spirited state of Florida, Hood also has offers from Alabama, LSU and even Louisville, but those schools aren't good enough to be in serious consideration for his linebacking services.   Kentucky "hosted" five-star point guard Kennedy Chandler over the weekend. Kennedy Chandler is the top-ranked point guard in the 2021 recruiting class and he and his parents met with UK's entire coaching staff on Saturday to discuss what Chandler at Kentucky would look like. Chandler has already seen the campus at least twice on unofficial visits, but this one was limited to a Zoom teleconference with everyone checking in from home. Chandler's home is Memphis, Tennessee, which means Calipari is in another battle with Memphis, one of the four other finalists on Chandler's top five, along with Kentucky. He's high on the Cats though and it helps that he ran into John Wall at a game last season and heard from Wall about playing PG in Lexington. Chandler told KSR, "The stuff John Wall told me really made it feel like it would be a good fit and a good school for somebody like me to be at. I’m glad we had a good talk.”   Former UK basketball head coach Eddie Sutton passed away. The legendary college basketball coach died on Saturday, his family announced in a statement. He was 84 years old. His former players and others paid their respects: You can read a little bit about Sutton's career here: Unfortunately, Sutton's time at Kentucky will be mostly remembered for the bad as he almost brought down the entire program, but his career as a whole is filled with success at multiple places.   Last night was the first Sunday night without "The Last Dance." I can't help you with that, but here's a video of Horace Grant calling Michael Jordan a snitch for your 90s Chicago Bulls nostalgia fix:   No live KSR radio today. But the website will keep rocking. Join us throughout the day for content as we stay indoors at our computers on this Memorial Day because the internet knows no holidays. The radio will re-air one of our all-time favorite shows from Iowa, so tune in at 10 a.m. to relive that.
