Mutuel Musings 10/19

by:Intern10/19/06
There has yet to be a thoroughbred named Patrick Patterson, and for this, I thank the good Lord; since Keeneland is so much better than 17-year-olds with a knack for rebounding, here are my picks of the day for Thursday, Oct. 19th. I will have Friday and Saturday’s picks up here sometime tomorrow. If you never make it to Keeneland because you’re either: lazy, apathetic, or out-of-town…TVG. How could betting on horses with the push of a button, in the comfort of your living room, possibly go wrong? Race 2 #3 Rise N Go–unraced, but owns a strong pedigree and Polytrack workouts. No, Jai Lucas is not the jockey, but up-and-comer Miguel Mena is. #2 Total–Was second in her first start at Saratoga against the same competition. Longshot: # 1 Point Perfect Race 5 #12 Bandstand is a steadily improving filly, and I think is primed for a big race. #8 Burletta is 12-1 in the morning line, which makes her a good price. I would throw some on her to show or across the board if her price is still loose. #3 Fieldabeat should also be a bargain and worth a look. Race 8 #4 Gilded Gold will get out on the lead, and in 5 ½ furlongs, should keep it. Longshot: #8 Mocha Queen
