For some reason, Myles Turner has been one of the harder 2014 recruits to read so far. Rivals' #6 player in the 2014 class recently cut his list from 26 to 8 (Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Texas), and is doing a blog for USA Today's High School site.
In his latest entry, he discussed his recruitment and had this to say about Cal:
Like Coach (John) Calipari is really laid back. He told me straight-up: "Myles I'm a 50-year-old man and you're a teenager; there's nothing we can talk about every day. I'm not gonna be calling you seven days a week." I really liked that. He just told me that he really wants me and he knows what I can be there at Kentucky.
The only other coach Myles talked about was Coach K, who he says treats him like a pro. Right now, the 6'11" center only has one official visit planned (to Kansas on October 4), but says he's working on scheduling the rest. Other than basketball, what's important to him in a school? A good psychology program.
