Nadal takes home impressive victory in Arkansas Derby (Div. 2)

After the legendary trainer saw his horse, Charlatan, take home the Arkansas Derby Division I victory, Baffert also saw Nadal - the race two favorite - come away victorious in the Division II race. Coming in as a 5-2 favorite, Nadal finished with a final time of 1:48.34 to win by two-and-a-half lengths. As impressive as Charlatan's run was earlier this evening, Nadal - under jockey Joel Rosario - finished his Arkansas Derby run .15 seconds faster.  King Guillermo came in second, followed by Finnick the Fierce in third. A $1 double earned bettors $14.20, while a $1 exacta earned $10.70. A $.50 trifecta earned $122.90, and a $.10 superfecta earned $126.37. Here were the post positions and final odds going into race two:

  2. Saratogian (50-1)
  3. Storm the Court (6-1)
  4. King Guillermo (3-1)
  5. Nadal (5-2)
  6. Code Runner (50-1)
