So that means it's time to check up on our former Wildcats in the NBA. Phoenix Suns Head Coach Earl Watson said "Our guys have been at it all week. We’ve been together all summer. Had a great training camp. It’s all positive energy heading into our first preseason game." And it showed, especially for UK's own Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight on the black squad and Devin Booker, Tyler Ulis and Archie Goodwin on the white. Bledsoe, who hasn't played since last December following a knee injury, had 15 points, three assists and three rebounds in addition to his buzzer-beater that tied the game at 72. Devin Booker was the leading scorer, ending the game with 19 points for his team. He went up against former Cat Brandon Knight in the post, finishing the play with a bucket. The second half of Kentucky's favorite duo, Ulis, had a great game at guard creating plays for not only himself but also his teammates. He finished with nine points, five assists and three rebounds. Archie Goodwin played significant minutes and scored nine points as well.   New Orleans Pelicans [caption id="attachment_208246" align="alignnone" width="320"]Photo by Layne Murdoch Jr./NBAE via Getty Images Photo by Layne Murdoch Jr./NBAE via Getty Images[/caption]   The Pelicans, featuring former Wildcats Anthony Davis and Terrence Jones, showed out in the preseason against the Mavericks last night 116-102. Anthony Davis played less minutes than usual in order be ready for the Pelicans' first regular season game on October 26th, following his March 2016 injury. Regardless, he was a major key in the paint last night scoring 13 points and had three rebounds and one assist in the 12 minutes he played. Jones had 17 points, three assists and five rebounds in nearly the 30 minutes he played in the post.   Jones said “I just wanted to be versatile. Play great defense and try to make plays for my teammates and myself.” Things are looking good for these two former Wildcats this season.   Heads Up! Don't forget about some more of our  favorite former Wildcats that are coming to Kentucky soon! The Kings vs. Wizards will be playing an exhibition at Rupp Arena on October 15th, one day after Big Blue Madness. You can catch the Timberwolves vs. the Heat will be in Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center on the 15th as well. Pick your team and go support our Cats!
