Believe it or not, I have some good news from the NCAA to pass along. According to CBS Sports' Matt Norlander, the number one overall seed in the NCAA Tournament will now be able to choose the location of its first two games. "Preferences would be communicated by teams in contention for the overall No. 1 seed far in advance of Selection Sunday in a process to be determined," the NCAA said in a statement via CBSSports.com. For teams like Kentucky, Duke, and the rest of the blue bloods, this is excellent news. Well, strike that. Duke always gets preferential treatment, so for teams like Kentucky, who continually get shafted the selection committee, this is excellent news. Next year's opening round host sites are Buffalo, Milwaukee, Orlando, Salt Lake City, Greensboro, Indianapolis, Tulsa, and Sacramento. I'll take Indianapolis, please. Today's decision comes as the National Association of Basketball Coaches' (NABC) ad hoc committee -- of which John Calipari is a member -- is putting together suggestions for the selection committee to improve the process. Norlander reports that the NABC committee has also requested an updated composite ranking system and clear list of criteria used for seeding and selection to improve transparency. Those changes won't come until the 2017-18 season at the earliest. For now, let's just be happy with the changes we are getting, and hope that Kentucky puts itself in a position to be able to take over Indy in March. [CBS Sports]
