New Assistant Coach

by:Matt Jones04/16/07
cyprien.jpeg Glenn Cyprien will be named as one of the three new assistant coaches on Billy Clyde's UK staff according to Victoria Sun of the Cincy Post. Cyprien comes to the Cats after stints at Arkansas and New Mexico State, where he was known as an ace recruiter and key developer of young talent. He also (and importantly) was Jai Lucas's brother John's assistant coach of choice on the Oklahoma State team that went to the Final Four. Cyprien is a great hire for recruiting and continues the trend of creating a staff loaded with recruiters. One thing that should be mentioned (as it will be in the press surely) is that Cyprien was once hired by Louisiana-Lafayette and then let go because it was found out that he didnt have a degree from an accredited university. Not the end of the world by any means, but certainly something that the newspaper sleuths will dig up. Good hire by Coach Clyde
