While the Kentucky baseball team may have lost both games in the program's first ever Super Regional appearance, it is no question that the program is headed in the right direction. First year head coach Nick Mingione has had an incredible effect on the team and the overall morale surrounding the program.
I remember after the UK men's basketball team won the 2012 National Championship, Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart said that the UK basketball program was built for John Calipari. After seeing what Mingione has done in just one year with the Bat Cats, I'd like to go out on a limb and say that he was built for this program.

A coach who has that much passion about the players on his team and the program in general, is exactly who you want at the helm while the team is on the rise. Pair Mingione's passion with the most passionate fan base in the country and it is a perfect match.
Starting the petition to sign an extra long contract extension for Mingione very soon.
