UK's royalties from the sale of licensed merchandise rose over 40% over the last year, thanks to a pretty fun basketball season that ended with a national title. According to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Corporate and University Relations Jason Schlafer, Kentucky merchandise royalties
grew to $6.73 million from $4.80 million in the 12 months from June 30, 2011 to June 30, 2012.
The rise moved Kentucky from seventh to
third on the annual list of top collegiate merchandise royalty earners released by the College Licensing Co., the highest ranking UK has held on the list.
