No Favors for you! (Unless you're visiting Ball State today)

by:Thomas Beisner12/29/08
It looks as if Atlanta basketball superstar and current #1 center in the class of 2009, Derrick Favors, has eliminated (or was never considiering, depending on who you listen to) the Cats.  Favors has mostly been a pipe dream for Cats fans throughout his recruitment and I'm sure no one really expected him to end up in Lexington, but if Seal can bag Heidi Klum, then I guess anything can happen.  Favors has decided to move on with Georgia Tech, Georgia and North Carolina State. But, you can still get a chance to catch Favors, as well as UK commit Dominique Ferguson in T-Mobile Invitational at Ball State today.  Ferguson's Lawrence North team will take on Seattle Garfield at 5:15 pm and Favors will take on Duncanville (Tex.) at 1:45 pm.  So, check it out if you're still stretching out the PTO and do your best to answer two questions for me. (1)  Should we just relocate Duncanville to the Louisville area?  I played in Dallas against Duncanville when I was in high school on a pretty regular basis and they were a big-time state power.  They churned out D-1 talent regularly (including Greg Ostertag!) and were just about as big as it gets on the scene.  BUT, I think I heard far less about them than I have the past few weeks.  Should they just put the school on one of those big trailers from the Ford F150 commercials and park it across from RiverBats stadium?  Discuss. (2)  Also, has any other top-ranked player escaped the limelight like Dominique Ferguson has?  UK has a top-5 player in his class coming in and he's been described as an impact player with an NBA Lottery future.  How has he managed to remain so under-the-radar for the most part?  Discuss below the above discussion.
