Oh, Roy, You Silly Goose
Check out what Roy Williams said during his press conference yesterday (as reported by the venerable Brett Dawson):
"VMI would've beaten us also," Williams said. "It's an easy deal for me to say. We would not have beaten VMI if they had come in here and played us like that. They were sensational."
You silly old man, Roy. I suppose some people could take that as you defending Billy Gillispie and validating VMI. But we all know you're just saying that so that your team doesn't take Kentucky lightly and gets VMI'd tonight. Thanks anyways, though.
P. S. If you lose by 10 or more tonight, I'm going to enjoy listening to the UNC fans moaning on the Internet. Everybody has this weird unsound transitive property when it comes to sports. "If Team A beats Team B, and Team B beats Team C, then Team A would beat Team C." If UK wins, I bet your quote might lead to some columnists thinking, "hey, VMI should be in the top-25", which is very funny and sad at the same time.
