The college football season is less than 100 days away. The preseason content machine is off and running. On Thursday, On3 took a unique angle to help the 2023 season countdown get started.

Clark Brooks and Charles Power have ranked the top 100 players in college football. Not surprisingly, Caleb Williams (USC), Drake Maye (North Carolina), and Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio State) are at the top of the rankings. Kentucky’s Barion Brown and Devin Leary also made an appearance inside the top 100.

On the field, Kentucky has 12 regular season games on the schedule with eight SEC opponents and four non-conference games highlighted by a trip to Louisville on Thanksgiving weekend. Throughout that schedule, Kentucky will finds itself up against some good football players. The Wildcats will face 16 players inside the top 100 this season.

  • Georgia tight end Brock Bowers (No. 4 overall)
  • Alabama cornerback Koo-Aid McKinstry (No. 9 overall)
  • Georgia safety Malaki Starks (No. 23 overall)
  • Alabama tackle JC Latham (No. 28 overall)
  • Alabama EDGE Dallas Turner (No. 47 overall)
  • South Carolina wide receiver Antwane Wells Jr. (No. 54 overall)
  • Georgia EDGE Mykel Williams (No. 58 overall)
  • Louisville DL Ashton Gillotte (No. 64 overall)
  • Georgia tackle Amarius Mims (No. 74 overall)
  • Georgia linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson (No. 77 overall)
  • Georgia guard Tate Radledge (No. 80 overall)
  • Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton (No. 81 overall)
  • Alabama wide receiver Malik Benson (No. 85 overall)
  • Alabama EDGE Chris Braswell (No. 93 overall)
  • Tennessee wide receiver Dont’e Thornton (No. 95 overall)
  • Georgia safety Javon Bullard (No. 99 overall)

Kentucky’s schedule gets much tougher this season due to the SEC West draw. The Wildcats will host Alabama in November when Nick Saban will bring one of the best rosters in college football to Kroger Field. UK also has to travel to Georgia to begin October. Those two rosters combined to put 12 players inside the top 100. That is a lot of talent in Athens and Tuscaloosa.

However, it is worth noting that Devin Leary and Joe Milton were the only two SEC quarterbacks in this ranking. If Kentucky does have one of the top two quarterbacks in the conference, that should go a long way this season.
