Gavin Wimsatt will suit up for Rutgers THIS SEASON.

According to KSR’s Matt Jones, Wimsatt, who is a four-star quarterback out of the class of 2022 from Owensboro High School (KY), has decided to leave the program in order to enroll early at Rutgers. He is expected to sign a six-figure name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal as a member of the Scarlet Knights.

Wimsatt will be eligible to play in the 2021 season. GoMyTeamPodcast was first to break the news.

Gavin Wimsatt is ranked as the no. 1 player in the state of Kentucky by 247 Sports and chose Rutgers over Kentucky back in April. On3 tabs him as a top 300 player in the entire country.

After winning on Friday night 49-42 against Daviess County, news quickly began to leak out that Wimsatt was leaving Owensboro for the college route. Tonight was his last game as a high school student.
