Patrick Towles doing his best work on James Quick

by:Ally Tucker08/19/12
Trinity's James Quick is one of the most heralded prospects coming out of Kentucky in this year's senior class. Quick is a 4-star wide receiver (by Rivals) and the #1 player in the state of Kentucky. Kentucky and Louisville are two of the schools who are battling it out for his services. Quick has a list of 5 schools, and says he doesn't plan on adding anyone else late in the game. The five schools currently in contention are Louisville, Ohio State, Oregon, Kentucky and Cincinnati. Many believe that Louisville might have the slight edge for the hometown kid, but that doesn't seem to be stopping Patrick Towles from lending a hand in the recruiting effort. Towles, a freshmen quarterback at the University of Kentucky, and a Kentucky native himself-- would like Quick to join him in the attempt to bring Kentucky football to a higher level in the SEC. According to an interview with Rick Bozich, Towles has left a good impression on Quick thus far.
He did confirm that he's been getting calls and texts from Patrick Towles. Towles is trying to convince him that UK is the best place for him to play. "He's a comedian," Quick said. "A good guy to be around."
Kentucky will be facing a tough challenge though, with Ohio State's tradition impressing Quick on a visit during a spring game. Oregon is also a trendy and exciting possible destination. Louisville's efforts are being helped by another young quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater. Quick still hasn't decided when the announcement will come, but all eyes in the state will be closely watching in anticipation that the uber-talented receiver chooses their school.
