Pete Carroll - Class of The College Ranks?

Psh.  Classless Jerk.

Imagine for a moment (as if you weren’t already,) that you’re the head coach for a college football team.  It’s the rivalry game, but admittedly one that hasn’t been a huge rivalry as of late.  We’ll say you’ve won, I dunno, nine out of the last ten.  Arbitrary numbers, to be sure.  You’re about to win another, and as you line up in the victory formation to kneel the ball and end the game, when your Arch Nemesis calls a time out.  What do you do now?  Well if you’re Pete Carrol, with fifty two seconds left on the clock and a thirteen point lead, you shoot for the endzone.  And you score.

Now imagine you’re a member of the losing team?  This one shouldn’t be as hard for most of you.  Classless moves by coaches who beat us are nothing out of the ordinary.  But think you’re on the sideline, and you haven’t won one of these rivalry games in two, three years.  What’s your response to an Ef f You touchdown? The choice is clear, you find someone to punch.  This is what happened, save for a full fledged Trojan Brawl, during last nights USC UCLA rivalry game.

So what do you make of this?  Classless move by Carroll?  Or was UCLA asking for it by taking a time out?  As a Patriots fan (I can hear your disgust from here,) I enjoy all things classless and sketchy, so I support it. There’s a full sixty minutes to be played, if UCLA is going to take a time out and try and extend the game, then so be it.  What do you think?
