Here’s some disappointing breaking news: PJ Washington will not play in the NBA Summer League due to a sore left foot. Charlotte Hornets head coach James Borrego told reporters the team is being cautious with PJ’s foot, the same one he injured towards the end of Kentucky’s season, to make sure he’s ready for training camp in September.

PJ sprained the foot vs. Tennessee in the SEC Tournament semifinals and had to sit out of the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. Even when he returned to action vs. Houston in the Sweet 16, he wasn’t 100%; in fact, his foot was still so tender after the season that he was unable to participate in most pre-draft workouts.

Rest up, PJ.
