POINT SPREAD: Opening Line for Kentucky vs. NC Central

Kentucky is playing a basketball game on Tuesday. The last two times we watched the Wildcats, they played games we’d rather forget. Now, Mark Pope gets one more tune-up before hitting another difficult stretch of the schedule.

Kentucky will host NC Central inside Rupp Arena at 7 PM ET. Even though things have looked rough as of late, the Cats should take care of business. Vegas has handicapped this lopsided matchup and made the Wildcats a 38.5-point favorite, with a total of 146.5.

If you want a KenPom projection, you’ll have to scroll far down the page to find NC Central. The Eagles from Durham rank No. 350 out of 365 Division I teams. They are dead last in 2-point shooting and effective field goal percentage. The good news? There are actually four teams in the MEAC ranked lower than NC Central. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for the Eagles.

As for tomorrow’s game, KenPom is calling for a 31-point win. Bart Torvik projects a final score of 89-55.

Kentucky is 4-5 Against the Spread (ATS) this season, but they’ve been pretty good against these inferior foes. The Wildcats are 4-1 ATS against low-level competition at Rupp, covering in every game since the season-opener against Nicholls.
