There was some gun play at Mammoth Cave National Park over the weekend and the elusive Big Foot may be at the heart of it. According to WBKO News out of Bowling Green, a couple was camping at the park, like people do, when their quiet time was interrupted by a stranger who claimed something had destroyed their campsite. One of the campers told WBKO the stranger warned the couple that they were in Big Foot County, "which seemed a little weird that he would say that." He assured them they would be okay, though, because he was packing heat. All they needed to do was shout and he would protect them, he said. Moments later, when the couple was back in their tent, gun shots rang out in the park. The couple called 9-1-1 and got the heck out of there by hiking five miles to safety. It is unclear if the gunshots came from the strange man who approached the couple; it is also unclear if he shot Big Foot. The investigation is still ongoing.
