Rajon Rondo headed to All-Star weekend

by:Thomas Beisner01/28/10
According to Yahoo Sports, the NBA will announce former Wildcat Rajon Rondo as an Eastern Conference All-Star reserve tonight at 7. The Celtics point guard averages 14.2 points and 9.7 assists (3rd in NBA) on 53.4% shooting (best among NBA guards) to go with 2.54 steals per game (1st in NBA), all career highs. When he takes the floor in Dallas, he will become UK's first NBA All-Star since Jamaal [email protected] in 2004. Interesting side note: The SEC is the most represented college conference with four players (Rondo, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace and Al Horford) with the possibility of one more (David Lee) being added. Take that Big East and ACC!
