Marches and rallies against racial injustice continue across the country, and tomorrow, several former UK Basketball and Football players are holding their own in Lexington. Ravi Moss and Erik Daniels have organized the “Walk Forward” rally, which will begin at 1 p.m. at Woodland Park. Fellow UK alums like Ramel Bradley, Lukasz Obrzut, Shane Boyd, and Rex Chapman will also be in attendance, along with speakers and community leaders like Devine Carama; Chantelle Pressley;  Rochelle Ritchie; Jarvis Byrd, son of UK great Leroy Byrd; and Kentucky State Representative and United States Senate hopeful Charles Booker.

Ravi came on today’s show to talk about the rally and what he hopes it accomplishes.

“We’re just trying to use our platform and our voice to bring change and positivity to the community,” Moss said. “We’re inviting everybody to come out to try to come together, have conversations, have a talk, and just learn and understand that we can’t do this alone. We’re all in this together and we want to make this a better place for everyone.”

Moss encouraged people to bring lawn chairs, water, hand sanitizer, etc. to the rally. Masks are not required but greatly encouraged. If you haven’t gotten your absentee ballot to vote in the primary on June 23, volunteers will also be on hand to help make sure your voice is heard.

Check out Ravi’s appearance at the start of hour two of today’s podcast.
