(Big Blue Insider)[/caption] Nobody crunches college football numbers quite like Phil Steele.  His magazine isn't out yet, but he's kind enough to give the football crazies an early taste on PhilSteele.com.  After doing a little meandering around, it was a pleasant surprise to see where Kentucky stands with players returning. Before we take a look, enjoy Phil's fantastic facial hair.

Percentage of Tackles Returning

69.08% is 40th in the nation, 3rd in the SEC.

Percentage of Yards Returning

78.22% is 43rd in the nation, 4th in the SEC.

Offensive line Starts Returning

95 starts is 15th in the nation and 3rd in the SEC. Nobody will be happier to see the last stat than Freddie Maggard.  You may think the rankings aren't very illustrious, but they're a lot better than what we're used to. If you'd like to compare these numbers with other teams (hint: Louisville's are A LOT lower), check out this link.  If you want to nerd out even more, allow me to shamelessly plug my next two gigs.  Tonight in Louisville I'll be on the Sunday Sports Buzz (WBNA-21, Ion TV, TWC 916) and tomorrow I'll be hanging out on The Leach Report for the second half-hour.  Like the say, there ain't no rest for the wicked.
