Thursday’s trade deadline is fast approaching, and we’re still nowhere closer to finding out where Anthony Davis will end up. According to Brad Turner of the LA Times, the Lakers have pulled out of trade talks for Davis after the Pelicans’ latest, most “outrageous” request.

After going back and forth with the Pelicans all day, the Lakers made this offer for Davis last night: Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and Ivica Zubac, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, AND two first-round draft picks AND salary cap-relief for taking back Soloman Hill. That’s basically an entire team; however, the Pelicans still weren’t satisfied and asked for more draft picks. Magic Johnson refused, telling Dell Demps that was the Lakers’ best and final offer. Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Lakers are still willing to listen to the Pelicans, but only if a reasonable counter-offer is made:

Adding to the madness was this tweet from the Pelicans minutes after the LA Times report came out:

Sigh. This is just going to get crazier as the week goes on. For more on potential trades for Davis, check out Zack’s post from earlier:
