According to ESPN's Tim MacMahon, former Kentucky forward Terrence Jones is signing a 10-day contract with the Houston Rockets. Jones played the first four seasons of his NBA career in Houston, appearing in 178 total games - starting 106 of them - while averaging 10.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game from 2012-2016. He has been out of the pros since March of 2017 when he was a member of the Milwaukee Bucks but is destroying the competition in the G League this season for the Erie BayHawks. Through 24 games for the Atlanta Hawks G League affiliate, Jones is averaging 23.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game while shooting over 52 percent from the field and nearly 38 percent from three on 3.6 attempts per game. Jones will now be assigned to the Rockets' G League team, the Rio Grande Vipers. With the playoffs creeping closer and closer, the Rockets are trying to beef up the back end of their bench with some size and Jones should fit in comfortably. He definitely won't have the ball as much as he's used to in the G League, but playing next to James Harden means getting rebounds and running the floor and Jones is more than capable of both. Hopefully, he can impress through 10 days to earn that coveted second 10-day deal.
