Rex Chapman tweeted out a photo this morning of the Larry O'Brien trophy posing next to a couple of legs that are sure to grab the attention and steal the hearts of our female audience. Rex said his crew thought his shorts were too high. "Haters." Some notes and a podcast... --- It sure is crazy how basketball recruiting works, especially when you follow along as a fan of Kentucky basketball. In less than a month, we saw a commitment from Nerlens Noel, a hope for Anthony Bennett end in disappointment, a split fanbase over one of the main guys from the Xavier brawl, a Croatian guy from Indiana, and now the late push for Amile Jefferson. There's that Julius Mays popping up out of nowhere, too. You can speculate, guess, hope, predict, and read into it as much as you want, but the reality is it's an insane process and only Calipari really knows what the hell is going on. --- With that being said, Jefferson and Mays are the two top targets currently on UK's board. The staff hopes to get Mays on campus this week for a visit, while Jefferson's camp is saying the same thing we've heard from them for months: "He'll know soon." --- ESPN's Eammon Brennan, one of Beisner's best friends, says it's not inconceivable to think Kyle Wiltjer could be Kentucky's leading scorer next season. Brennan said a Harrow/Wiltjer pick-and-pop could be Kentucky's bread and butter play on the offensive end. I agree with using that "pick-and-pop", but I'm taking Archie Goodwin for leading scorer over Kyle Wiltjer. No offense, Kyle. --- UNLV is expected to win the Anthony Bennett sweepstakes over Oregon. Bennett's Findlay Prep is just 10 minutes away from UNLV's campus and he has a very good relationship with the Rebel staff and incoming big man Khem Birch. Recruiting experts believe Kentucky was dropped from contention because Bennett wants to be "the guy" wherever he goes. That certainly wouldn't have worked in Lexington. --- In case you missed it this morning, Coach Cal has a good explanation on UK's scheduling over on his website. Get used to being nontraditional. --- On this morning's radio show, Matt and Ryan tried to decipher Archie Goodwin's latest video, including the meaning of the word "burr." Listen to the vocabulary lesson on the podcast...
