Howard, who leads the No. 17 Kentucky women's team in scoring at 16.8 points per game, led the Wildcats to two road wins last week over Auburn and Alabama. She posted 19 points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals against Auburn and then registered 23 points, three rebounds, and three assists against Alabama on Monday night. She shot a combined 15-26 from the field through those two games, including an incredibly efficient 9-13 clip from three. The native of Cleveland, Tennessee is now tied with current Missouri Tiger, senior Sophie Cunningham, for the most Freshman of the Week awards in conference history. She is also only the second Kentucky player - men or women - to win the award six times, tieing Brandon Knight's record from back in the 2010-11 season. Howard also leads the Wildcats in rebounds, ranks second in three-pointers made, second in steals, and third in assists and blocks, while also shooting slightly over 41 percent from three this season. Not only is Howard one of the best freshman the SEC has ever seen, but she also has a legitimate shot at becoming one of the greatest players in SEC history, period. There is obviously a long way to go for her, but she's hit every proverbial box that is required of a future star. Outside of Maci Morris, Howard has been Kentucky's best player and she is not even close to a finished product yet. Don't be surprised if Howard takes home this award for the seventh time and claims the record all by herself.
