Richie Farmer reaches plea deal, could spend up to two years in prison

caliparirichie WUKY is reporting that Richie Farmer has reached a plea deal with prosecutors in his government corruption case that will put him in prison for up to two years. His attorney filed a motion for a change of plea this morning, which means he's agreed to resolve all pending and potential criminal and ethics charges stemming from misconduct during his time as Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner. Without the plea deal, Richie could have faced 10 years in prison if convicted. If the deal is approved by court, Richie faces a sentence of 21 to 27 months and will pay restitution and fines of $120,500. Hopefully this concludes a bad news week for our former Cats.
