Robbie McAtee: More on the New Hero

by:Matt Jones09/15/08
We did our Robbie McAtee preview earlier this year....and you might have missed it. But since he just saved the victory over MTSU, we thought we might bring it back again. RM Boring, Obligatory Vitals Height--5'10" Weight--175 40--N/A Year--SR Position--Cornerback Hometown--Louisville, KY (Seneca) Unfair comparison to NFL-er: Champ Bailey. Go get 'em, Robbie! Most interesting thing from his bio: He has already graduated with a degree in Sociology and he is looking to get his Masters this fall...not surprisingly, he was on the SEC Academic Honor Roll last season. Something we made up about him: His mother's name is Margarita...no, wait, that's true. Sweet. Items of legitimate interest: Made five tackles last season in the victory against Vanderbilt. Also, made his first career pass breakup in the Music City Bowl last season. Transferred from Franklin College after his freshman year. Was voted as the Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year in 2006...yeah, I know, he plays defense now. Outlook for 2008, based on light research by our minions: In the post-spring depth chart, he is second behind Trevard Lindley at cornerback, so it speaks volumes that he was able to move ahead of Shomari Moore and Ahmad Grigsby for the backup role.
