Holidays are right around the corner, and in this season of giving, White, Greer & Maggard Orthodontics has partnered with Lance Ware, Jacob Toppin, Sahvir Wheeler and other Kentucky basketball players to make the season a bit brighter for children in foster care.

Current Wildcats are kicking off the holiday season with a toy drive to benefit Sunrise Children’s Services, which provides care and hope for hurting families and children.

“Braces & Basketball Holiday Toy Drive” is a new program designed by WGM to give both their patients and the community in general, the opportunity to brighten the holidays of foster children served by Sunrise Children’s Services. In addition to the satisfaction gained from giving to others those who donate will benefit by getting a chance to win items signed by players.

Collected gifts will be presented to the foster children of Sunrise Children’s Services at a private event by members of the basketball team. WGM is excited to host an experience these children will never forget.

“We could think of no better partner than members of the basketball team to help us in spreading smiles this holiday season. Creating the toy drive to further serve our community and brighten this time of year for the children of Sunrise Children’s Services was a no-brainer. We are excited for our patients and community members to join us in giving back,” says Dr. Brent Maggard.

For every toy dropped off in one of the program bins at any WGM location and for every $20 donated to Sunrise Children’s Services via their website, which includes “Braces & Basketball” in the comments section found here, the donor will receive one entry to win one of several items signed by player partners – Jacob Toppin, Lance Ware, and Sahvir Wheeler.

“Every child deserves a reason to smile this time of year. I feel so honored that I can use my position as a college basketball player to bring joy to kids across Kentucky this holiday season. I appreciate WGM asking me to be part of the program and look forward to playing Santa when the donated gifts are presented to the children and families of Sunrise Children’s Services,” said Sahvir Wheeler.

Information about the program, including an Amazon Wish List, a list of WGM drop-off locations, and a link to donate directly to Sunrise Children’s Services can be found at www.wgmortho.com/braces-and-basketball. The program runs from November 16 through December 7.
