Samardo Samuels and UK are done....Singleton did not visit as planned...

 Samardo Sameuls

Just a couple of quick hitters that I've seen asked about around the net. Samardo Samuels to UK is a dead deal.  UofL seems to be moving into the lead and is reportedly working on hiring one of Samuel's AAU coaches.  This deal has trumped any influence UK was trying to wield.  Before anyone calls foul, remember that UK with Pitinio hired Magloire's AAU coach, so Pitino does have a precedent for these kinds of hires.  I'll also make my own personal comment that I have no issue with this as long as a spot was open to fill and the guy was qualified.  Every top job in the nation comes with the "what players can you bring" question.  I think UNC is hurt the most if they do lose Samardo since they were thought to have Roe locked up before he commited to Mich St., and they were named a "slight lean" by Samardo in recent weeks.  Samardo to UofL will also help UofL with Tyreke Evans, a top 10 overall player and UofL target. Chris Singleton was not able to visit UK as previously planned due to his participation in the Adidas Nations team that is playing in Portland in a few days.  He had to go to Portland instead and time did not allow him to visit.  A reschedule is underway and this cancellation should not be viewed as a slight in any way. Internet reports have placed Olek Czyz in Louisville on Monday playing basketball with Rondo, Nazr and the Cards team.  Olek is scheduled to play in St Louis in a few days with the Las Vegas Top Prospects and it is likely that he will stop and visit some other schools on his way to St. Louis.  Olek has stated that he will take his official visits before he commits, so we shouldn't be surprised if he did indeed stop by UofL to check out Pitino's team.  I have tried to get confirmation or denial of this report, but have not been able to.  This leads me to believe the report may be reliable since it is normally very easy to shoot down rumors, but takes longer to confirm them.
