Saniah Tyler had a very impressive and much-improved sophomore season in Lexington, averaging 10.2 points per game while shooting 34.5% from three-point range.

Of course, a major part of that was that she was the go-to scorer whenever Maddie Scherr and Ajae Petty were off, but that shouldn’t really take much away from what Tyler did last season. Despite having a big year two, it seems uncertain that she’ll see the same progression this year.

For one, the roster is much more talented and much deeper. Last season, Tyler was really the only consistent perimeter shooter from the wing. However, this year’s team is loaded with perimeter shooters. So, it would make sense that Tyler’s production doesn’t see a huge increase this season.

However, she ain’t about that. Tyler wants to continue to see her numbers go up. How does she plan on achieving another great individual season?

Well, we’ll let her tell you.

“[I want to get] 1% better each day,” Tyler explained. “I want this year to be a huge jump for me from my sophomore year. Working on the little things, getting in the gym, getting more shots up, getting more efficient, working on my fatigue, my mental. Mental is a big part of the game. So, just working on all of that and elevating as a player.”
