I was stuck at work last night so I missed out on all of the "excitement" of the Olympic opening ceremonies. So imagine my surprise when I discovered that the torch was lit by Peeta from the Hunger Games. In reality the torch was lit by seven young British athletes who will be representing their country in this year's games. In honor of all of the fine men and women who will be representing the USA here are today's Olympian links.   -One day after Joker made his plea for BBN to rally around the team the football team is hosting the women's clinic at Commonwealth Stadium. KSR has two ace reporters from KSRcollege on the scene who you can check out on twitter for live updates from the event. Ashley Scoby and Hayley Minogue have done an excellent job this morning making me feel like I'm at the event. -Over the past two years you would be hard pressed to find two more decorated athletes than Tyson Chandler and Anthony Davis. The Chicago Tribune caught up with the team USA centers to talk about their Olympic experience thus far and some of the hazing AD has had to endure. -Speaking of Anthony Davis, add Dickie V to the list of people who believe the freshman has had the best year ever. If he adds a gold medal to his resume it will be hard to argue that there has been a better college player. -Team USA takes the court tomorrow against France in their opening game of the Olympic basketball. The official site of USA Basketball has a nice little preview of what you can expect when the two teams kick off Olympic basketball. -There are lots of interesting folks from the Bluegrass representing the USA. From the track, the court, and the pool Kentucky has sent a lot of talented people to London. Perhaps none more interesting than Lee Kiefer who rose through the ranks in the mecca of fencing that is Lexington. She is currently in her first match!
