memorial-day-parade-420x240 Hello, friends. It's been awhile since we last talked. As awesome as it was rambling through Europe these past few months, I'm really excited to be back with you lovely people. It's also nice to once again have sporting events that start at a reasonable hour. That Wisconsin loss was painful, especially so at 5 AM. As we enter the latter-half of this Memorial Day weekend - let's try to take some time to reflect on what we're celebrating. War is an ugly reality, and the sacrifices made by our veterans past and present can never be over-stated. Try to take a moment to truly appreciate the brave souls who lost their lives in battle, and maybe call up a vet you know and thank him or her for their service. Then enjoy some more BBQ. Some notes.

Jamal Murray might keep us waiting a bit longer

According to this article on Zagsblog, Jamal Murray isn't in a rush to make his college choice, or to decide if he even wants to reclassify to the 2015 class. When asked about his timetable, Murray said, “[Maybe] two months. My dad’s taking care of it. That’s a choice for my dad to make." Murray's visit last weekend was a welcome reprieve from our recent recruiting woes. Let's hope it impressed Poppa Murray. Courier-Journal profiles Briscoe and his confidence [caption id="attachment_174560" align="alignnone" width="194"]Via 247 Sports Via 247 Sports[/caption] While it's fun to get caught up in a possible new commitment, let's not forget about another talented point guard who will be at Kentucky next season. The Courier-Journal ran a nice profile on incoming guard Isaiah Briscoe that pays special attention to his confidence. In a quote included the article, Briscoe says, "I've never second-guessed myself, never short-changed myself. I am who I am. I feel as though I'm the best player, and I think everybody should feel like that." Big words. It'll be fun to watch him back them up. A writer at the Glasgow Daily Times thinks KSR affected the outcome of the GOP Primary The KY GOP gubernatorial primary was a little crazy. Matt Bevin beat opposing candidate James Comer by only 83 votes - showing that every vote does matter, sometimes. Ronnie Ellis over at the Glasgow Daily Times thinks our fearless leader Matt Jones played a significant role in the election. He writes, "Jones has become a public force in the political arena. There is little doubt the KSR forum affected the final outcome." It's no secret that UK sports play a large role in the average Kentucky citizen's life. Matt and Ryan do a tremendous job of using their platform to promote and inform us on (arguably) more important issues in the state. If only they had some more info on Jai Lucas. Kentucky softball drops first game in Super Regional 11029770 The Softball Cats hit a bump in their quest for a World Series title, losing to Florida 7-0 this afternoon. The ladies have a chance to redeem themselves tomorrow against the Gators, and will be playing on ESPN at 12 PM. Get em, girls. Reds' manager Bryan Price was thrown out before today's game started If you're a Reds fan this season, I'm sorry. --- That's it for now. Have a great Saturday night, yall. See you tomorrow.
