Scoreboard Rundown: A pair of Top 25 upsets and out-of-state wins
It was a “light” slate of games over the last couple of days in the Kentucky high school football world. We were treated to just two Top 25 matchups (a third between Corbin-Pulaski County was canceled), but both provided plenty of fireworks.
One was the KSR Game of the Week which saw No. 22 Lexington Christian Academy pull off the upset at home against No. 7 Christian Academy-Louisville 41-34 in a game that came down to the final minute. The other took place in northern Kentucky with No. 16 Ryle upsetting No. 12 Highlands in overtime, 34-28. The biggest upset was Fort Campbell’s 41-40 win over No. 20 Madisonville-North Hopkins.
Otherwise, the rest of the Week 4 schedule mostly saw the favored team come out on top, including a 30-point win for top-ranked Boyle County.

A handful of in-state teams traveled out of the Bluegrass for big wins, too. Trinity and South Warren both handled Indiana teams while Woodford County flew all the way out to California to secure its victory. However, Central came up just short in a 7-6 loss to Ohio’s La Salle.
Below you can find all of the final scores from teams among KSR’s Top 25 rankings, along with the teams outside of the rankings that received votes from our panel of 10 voters. We have compared the final result to the pregame predictions from On3’s Massey Ratings, which once again did a solid job of predicting the winner and getting close to the final score.
