Scout Releases Final Top 100 of 2010

by:Patrick Barker05/04/10
web-traffic-rankings Scout.com released their rankings of the Top 100 players in the class of 2010 late last night.  Of course, list creator Dave Telep (along with our friend Evan Daniels) said it best when he said "They are meaningless unless the top players actually set aside their agendas and help their teams succeed on the court".  Pardon the expression, but we've gotten lucky at Kentucky so far because last year's group of freshmen did just that- put aside all hype and personal agendas for the betterment of Kentucky.  Will this year's class do the same?  I sure hope so.  Here are the notable rankings from Scout.  If you disagree, well, find a way to deal with it. #1. Harrison Barnes - UNC #2. Kyrie Irving - Duke #3. Enes Kanter - Kentucky #4. Jared Sullinger - Ohio St. #5. Josh Selby - Kansas #6. Brandon Knight - Kentucky #7. Tobias Harris - Tennessee #8. Terrence Jones - Undecided-ish #9. Perry Jones - Baylor #10. Tristan Thompson - Texas #11. CJ Leslie - NC State #28. Doron Lamb - Kentucky #46. Gorgui Dieng - Louisville #58.  Dominique Ferguson - Fla. International #67. Stacey Poole - Kentucky Obviously there isn't too much of a deviation from this list to Rivals' list, which was released last week.  The only "major" difference as UK fans care is that Stacey Poole, ranked #33 by Rivals is #67 according to Scout.  Pretty big difference.  It would also appear that Rivals and Scout differ on the value of Josh Selby.  At the end of the day, ranking don't really mean much, just a point of conversation.  But if I were made to pick a ranking that I believed most accurate, I would probably go with Scout's list.  Discuss. Oh, and here are the links to the rankings, Rivals and Scout.
