Senior Day Links

by:Jonathan Schuette03/09/13
chuck_hayes2 Things certainly haven't been looking up for Kentucky recently. In fact, things have gotten downright ugly since Nerlens Noel suffered a catastrophic knee injury against Florida.  Ray Glier of the New York Times agrees and wrote an interesting piece on the current state of the Wildcats. It's Senior Day at Kentucky, meaning that we'll be saying goodbye to both Julius Mays and Twany Beckham today.  Fink Densford of CoachCal.com wrote an excellent story on how Julius and Twany relished their roles despite the season not going to plan. It's no secret that Kentucky currently finds themselves on thin ice in terms of the NCAA Tournament.  Terrence Payne of NBC.com's College Basketball Talk shares that sentiment, but he laid out what the Cats need to accomplish going forward in order to make the field of 68. The game against Florida will tip-off in about two hours.  In case you're looking for a game preview, Mark Long of the Associated Press gave his take on what to watch for today. Fear not if written previews aren't your thing, because ESPN.com's Myron Medcalf gave his preview of today's game in video form. During the 45-second clip, Medcalf hypothesizes that Kentucky will have to stop Florida's perimeter shooters and force turnovers in order to come out victorious today.
