Many players contributed to the Cats' success, including reliever Spencer Jack who was named SEC Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Jack showed tremendous poise in two thrilling extra-inning wins against the Tigers, picking up a win and save on the weekend. In the series-opener, UK took a two-run lead in the top of the 12th and turned to Jack in relief after consecutive errors left two runners in scoring position and no outs. Jack escaped the jam, snapping a seven-game losing streak for the Wildcats at Alex Box Stadium. Jack also came on in relief in the rubber match on Sunday holding an 8-7 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning with All-American Alex Bregman at the plate, managing to hold the Tigers' star to a sac fly. UK stuck with the veteran in extra-innings and Jack held LSU scoreless as the Cats clinched the win. In 5.1 innings over the course of the week, Jack allowed just one hit and two walks with three strikeouts, claiming a win and a save. Jack holds a 1-0 record this season with a 3.27 ERA in 12 games and four saves. @STHowle
