Game 1: 5-4 LSU The Tigers gave the Cats just their third one run loss of the season in front of a season high 3,785 fans, 5-4.  A pair of first inning errors proved costly for the Cats as they allowed two LSU runs to score.  Wildcat leadoff hitter Austin struck-out in all five of his plate appearances.  Michael Williams drove in two runs and Cameron Flynn and Zac Zellers added a run apiece but it wasn't enough as the Tigers scored five runs with two outs to take the first game in the series.  LSU starter Kevin Gausman lived up to his billing as the top pitcher in the nation as he threw seven innings and fanned 11 Wildcats with tripled digit heat.  Game 2: 8-1 UK The Cats shook off tough night and quickly jumped on top of the Tigers with two runs in the first inning.  Austin Cousino returned to form and broke the game open in the forth with a three run bomb off the party deck in centerfield to cap a four run inning for the Cats.  Luke Maile would add two more in the seventh with his SEC leading 11th homerun of the year as UK starter Jerad Grundy picked up his first conference win.  Game 3: 7-6 UK  The rubber match of the series was a back and forth affair that was all one could ask for between the top two teams in the nation.  LSU jumped on top in the second inning as Raph Rhymes hit a solo homerun off the scoreboard in left-field in-route to a 4 for 4 day in which he drove in three of the Tigers six runs and improved his SEC leading average to .500. The Cats responded with 3 runs to take the lead in the bottom of the third, and it was back and forth the rest of the game. Alex Phillips closed it out for UK in a 2-inning save and Kentucky held on to win 7-6. The series win marks the sixth SEC series win in six attempts and the Cats are now 5-0 in Sunday SEC rubber match games this season with Corey Littrell on the mound. UK is now in sole posession of first place in the SEC and will likely be the #1 ranked team in all polls on Monday. Kentucky heads to Louisville on Tuesday night seeking revenge for a 12-0 loss two weeks ago in Lexington.  Next weekend, they will travel to Nashville for a three game set with Vanderbilt.
