Skyy Clark not considering decommitment, in regular contact with Antigua and Coleman

Kentucky basketball commitment Skyy Clark is still locked in with the Wildcats, the five-star junior’s father told KSR on Sunday.

Despite some initial hesitancy following the departure of his lead recruiter – Joel Justus took an assistant coaching job at Arizona State back in April – and later rumblings of a potential decommitment on the horizon, Clark’s father said reports of his son wavering on his pledge are false.

“That’s a lie,” Kenny Clark told KSR.

Following the additions of Orlando Antigua and Chin Coleman to the coaching staff on May 6, consistent contact has picked back up between the five-star guard and the Kentucky program. And as expected, the new assistants have made great first impressions with the Clark family.

“It just picked back up. Coach Chin and Coach O, they’re hitting us up like every day. It’s going great,” Clark said. “… They’re great dudes. Great energy, funny, great personalities.”

Antigua and Coleman aren’t the only coaches in contact with the UK commit. Head coach John Calipari is also staying in touch with Clark, the program’s lone pledge in the class of 2022.

“He talks to Skyy, he just texted him (Saturday),” Clark added.

Clark is currently listed as the No. 10 overall prospect and No. 2 combo guard in the 2022 247Sports Composite Rankings. Rivals has him listed at No. 8 overall in the class and No. 4 among point guards.

The five-star guard committed to Kentucky back on October 22, choosing the Wildcats over Memphis, North Carolina and UCLA.

“As you all know, Coach Calipari is an amazing coach,” Clark told KSR prior to his commitment. “Everything about Kentucky is on a new level. They try to get you to the league, which is my ultimate goal. They’re going to push you to not only be a player in the league, but one of the top players in the league. That’s something I’m definitely looking for when I go to college.”
