Some UK Football Statistics To Chew On

by:Matt Jones11/08/10
uk While doing the radio show today (and you really have to listen to Gregg Doyel's interview as he killed it yet again), we looked into some 2010 football statistics. Below is the NATIONAL rank of UK's team in a number of categories....out of 120 teams in Division I: Rushing Offense 67th Passing Offense 20th Total Offense 28th Scoring Offense 22nd These statistics clearly show that Kentucky has had a stellar offensive campaign and that the passing game has been in the top quarter of teams in the country. The running game is a bit lower, but can be attributed to the Derrick Locke injury. On defense: Rushing Defense 89th Passing Defense 10th Total Defense 39th Scoring Defense 85th Sacks 95th Tackles for Loss 70th In some ways, these statistics are bizarre. The total defense is in the Top 40, but the scoring defense is 85th. Part of that can be attributed to the poor red zone work and the running game taking the clock down and not allowing as many plays. As you can see however, the Rushing Defense is poooooor and the Defensive Line is horrid, as shown by the sacks and tackles for a loss category. Passing Efficiency 26th Receptions 20th Randall Cobb All-Purpose Yards 3rd Randall Cobb Tackles 8th Danny Trevathan And what does this show us? It shows us that Cobb and Trevathan are great. But you knew that already.
