The South Carolina Gamecocks are nothing more than a bunch of chickens. Since Will Muschamp's termination as South Carolina's head coach, two of their star football players are bailing out on the rest of the 2020 SEC football season. The first domino to fall was Jaycee Horn, the son of former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Horn (a.k.a. the guy that pulled out a flip phone to celebrate a touchdown). The younger Horn has been a breakout star and one of the few bright spots on South Carolina's defense, picking off two passes and recording eight passes defended, tied for the second most in the SEC. South Carolina's other starting' cornerback, Israel Mukuamu, followed Horn's lead less than 48 hours later. Mukuamu also had a couple of interceptions this year. Each player is considered a top ten cornerback prospect by Todd McShay in the 2021 NFL Draft class. In addition to losing stars, the Gamecocks are simply losing depth. Interim coach Mike Bobo also announced Tuesday that defensive back R.J. Roderick and defensive lineman Makius Scott will opt out of the remainder of the season. Bobo had to move running back ZaQuandre White to safety and offensive lineman Jordan Rhodes to the defensive line just to put more bodies on that side of the ball.  Since the school bailed on their coach, you can't be too mad at the players for bailing on their program with just three games remaining. The better question is, will there be any players left when Carolina comes to Kroger Field December 5?
