ulis-spurs In recent weeks, Tyler Ulis' stock has slipped due to a report about a "significant hip injury," which Tyler told reporters on Friday was false. Ulis told mlive.com he had "no idea" where the rumors about his hips were coming from, and that he's "never had hip pain." Regardless, Ulis is out of the first rounds in Chad Ford, Draft Express, and NBADraft.net's latest mock drafts, which makes this morning's tweet from Jon Rothstein very welcome news. According to Rothstein, the San Antonio Spurs have done "extensive research" on Ulis. The Spurs have the 29th pick in Thursday's draft, and even though that's not as high as we all would like Tyler to go, there are arguably few better scenarios for him. Tony Parker's getting older and Ulis would be the perfect fit in the Spurs' system. Ulis has already interviewed with the Spurs, and if he happens to still be on the board at #29, Gregg Popovich would get the steal of the Draft. Ulis has one more workout scheduled with the Philadelphia 76ers, who hold the 1st, 24th, and 26th picks. Personally, still rooting for him to go to Chicago at #14, but the Spurs at #29 is a close second.
