Notes time: --- If you missed it below, Xavier Rathan-Mayes tweeted his list of ten schools and Kentucky was among them. The 2013 SG also tweeted that he would visit campus on Friday for an unofficial visit. Unfortunately, he won't be bringing his buddy Andrew Wiggins with him. Rathan-Mayes and Wiggins are close friends, and have openly discussed playing together at the next level. Rathan-Mayes told SNY.tv last week he and Wiggins have "always wanted to play together since we were young and go to school together so that’s definitely a possibility.” Bring. it. on. --- Another new name popped up on the 2014 radar today: Keita Bates-Diop, a 6'7", 190 lbs. SF from Illinois. Bates-Diop's coach tweeted that he has received interest from Kansas, Kentucky, and Michigan State recently. He's ranked the 42nd (Rivals) and 43rd (ESPNU) best player in the 2014 class. --- The Courier-Journal's new columnist Tim Sullivan released his first column today and also participated in an online chat with readers, who couldn't help but have a little fun with the rookie:

Ahh, the new guy. He obviously hasn't read that section of the Courier-Journal handbook yet. --- Congratulations to Dermontti Dawson, who will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. In 1988, the former Cat was drafted in the second round by Pittsburgh, where he stayed his entire 12-year career. He's one of the best to ever play for Kentucky, and is the living epitome of "Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat." He and his wife established the Dermontti F. and Regina M. Dawson Endowed Graduate Fellowship in Education scholarship at the University, he was a charter member of the UK Athletics Hall of Fame, and in 2005, then Governor Ernie Fletcher named him to the UK Board of Trustees. On a day when we've mentioned the importance of honoring past Wildcat greats, let's give a Big Blue Nation ovation to #63. --- Matt and Ryan continued the KSR State Tour of Affiliates this morning with a stop in Morgantown at the Farm Boy Restaurant, where they met "The Brian Long Guy" and Miss Catfish.
