State champion H.S. football coach suspended for practicing in Florida

Unsanctioned high school football practice? Can’t be doing that. One of the top programs in Florida learned that the hard way when Max Edwards, head coach at Miami Northwestern, was suspended as his school investigated unauthorized athletic activity on his watch. Edwards’ teams have won three straight state championships, but that doesn't earn him or his team the right to get a head start on next season while the entire state has shut down high school sports. “Further action may be taken against others who may have been involved in this unsanctioned event. The school is in the process of communicating with parents of students who may have participated,” said a spokeswoman for Miami-Dade Public Schools. https://twitter.com/HeraldSports/status/1264258092461670406 Here in Kentucky, youth sports are set to pick back up in a very limited capacity with guidelines for the "new normal" to keep things safe. As for high school sports. the Kentucky High School Athletics Association is still trying to figure out its plans, with board meetings on the schedule for this week.
