Avery Williamson will be a Pittsburgh Steeler once he clears the team physical, the Steelers announced Monday. News of Pittsburgh’s trade for Williamson leaked out on Sunday, now Pittsburgh is making it official with a statement announcing the addition of the former Wildcat linebacker.

Williamson tweeted, “Steel City,” and made a funny Instagram post for his departure from New York:

Two of Williamson’s new teammates, fellow UK alums Benny Snell and Bud Dupree, were quick to comment. Calvin Taylor Jr. is also in Pittsburgh on the practice squad, making it four former Cats on the undefeated Steelers.

So far in 2020, Williamson has six starts with 59 tackles, three pass breakups and an interception, all for the New York Jets, his former team. Williamson signed with the Jets as a free agent from the Tennessee Titans in 2018 and led the team in tackle in his first season in New York. He missed 2019 with a torn ACL suffered in the preseason, and now goes from winless to undefeated in his comeback season.

Bengals fans, your thoughts on the the Steelers being BBN’s new team in the NFL?
