Tell us something we don't already know. Now that training camp is well underway, NFL coaches have a better feel for their players and can predict their production for the upcoming season. In the least surprising news of the day, the Steelers, staff, and linebacker coach Joey Porter love what they have been seeing out of Bud Dupree. Coach Porter commented on his expectations for Dupree.
"I'm expecting double digit sacks out of him ..."
Last season, Porter pulled Dupree in favor of gridiron veterans James Harrison and Arthur Moates. On whether or not that would be the case this season, Porter said,
"Last year, a lot of times I pulled [Dupree] out of the game, a learning experience. I can't really justify myself doing that now. If those guys are out there doing it and they know the defense, there's no reason to pull them."
Leading into his sophomore season in the NFL, Dupree is poised to have a breakout year. He's serious about it too. Dupree dropped 20 pounds this offseason. Those double-digit sack numbers aren't going to get themselves.
"No Carbs." Dupree smiled.
