Screen Shot 2015-07-08 at 4.10.47 PM Good morning, friends. You're looking at former Cat Steven Borden and a giant marlin he caught off the coast of Cabo. Would you expect anything else from the son of Sting? I wouldn't. In fact, in true Sting family fashion, Steven said he dove in and wrestled off a couple of sharks to get the marlin. With anyone else, I'd say that was an exaggeration; with him, I'm not so sure. Let's go over the day's news because I've got a plane to catch...

Happy John Calipari Goes Recruiting Day!

The big news of the day will come from three major recruiting events: the Nike Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina; the UnderArmour All-America Camp in Charlotte, North Carolina; and the adidas Uprising Gauntlet in Atlanta, Georgia. UK targets are at all three, so John Calipari's jet will be busy crisscrossing the Southeast so he can do his thing. A quick rundown of who is where today:

Peach Jam

Targets: Harry Giles, Jayson Tatum, Malik Monk, Miles Bridges, Udoka Azubuike, Marques Bolton

UA All-America

Targets: Josh Jackson, DeAndre Ayton (2017), Sacha Killeya-Jones, Thon Maker, Markelle Fultz (no offer)

adidas Uprising Gauntlet

Targets: Kobi Simmons (in case you missed the news last night, he said he's UK's "guy"), Rawle Alkins, James Banks (no offer)

Yesterday, John Calipari watched Kobi Simmons, James Banks, and Rawle Alkins play in Atlanta, while John Robic watched Sacha Killeya-Jones in Charlotte. Cal is expected in North Augusta for the Peach Jam today. Here are some of the games he'll likely sit in on:
  • Mac Irvin Fire vs. Team CP3 (Harry Giles), 9 a.m. ET
  • The Family Detroit (Miles Bridges) vs. Georgia Stars (Udoka Azubuike), 9 a.m. ET
  • Playaz Basketball Club vs. St. Louis Eagles (Jayson Tatum), 9 a.m. ET
  • Team Penny vs. Arkansas Wings (Malik Monk), 10:30 a.m.
  • Georgia Stars (Udoka Azubuike) vs. Pro Skills TX (Marques Bolden), 6 p.m. ET
Expect updates throughout the day as Cal works the room and straddles two courts in a manner only he can. Even though KSR isn't on the ground at the Peach Jam this year, we have our spies there to report back, so stay tuned...

Drake Jackson is at The Opening

Drake's been at the Nike World Headquarters in Oregon all week to compete in The Opening Finals, the nation's top high school football event. Today, Drake will compete in the lineman challenge at 10 a.m. Yesterday, he held his own against the number one player in the nation, Rashan Gary: https://vine.co/v/enUhtegHi2z Keep making us proud, Drake.

We will keep waiting to find out Jared Lorenzen's big announcement

https://twitter.com/JaredLorenzen22/status/618807572796084225 Jared says it's not related to UK but something UK fans can get excited about. Drew and I are both in the dark, and you better believe I'll be checking my phone from Colorado to see what it is on Friday. Jared's a superstar in the making, so I'm sure it's big. Thankfully, he signed on to do the pregame show with us this year, so whatever the new venture it is won't mean goodbye.

I'm off to Estes Park

...but don't worry, I'll be back on Monday to get you ready for Media Days in Hoover and Drew will hold down the fort while I'm gone. Huge thanks to those of you who sent me recommendations on where to eat, hike, and drink in the Estes Park area this weekend. Unfortunately, we probably won't be able to make it to every place, but we'll certainly try.

KSR is in South Williamson at Appalachian Wireless at South Side Mall

Are you there? You should be. I hear there's a machine that can simulate a hurricane.
