Terry Wilson was 13-20 for 108 yards and one touchdown tonight, but his decision making was a liability, contributing to Kentucky’s 20-14 overtime loss to the Aggies.

One of Wilson’s biggest strengths is scrambling, but he only netted four yards rushing on 14 attempts, a testament to Texas A&M’s top-ranked rushing defense. Mark Stoops admitted on the postgame radio show that the staff considered switching to Gunnar Hoak, but stuck with Terry.

“I thought they did a good job of affecting the quarterback with coverage and pushing the pocket. [Terry] was not comfortable all not. That’s on everybody, not just on him. We’ve got to do a better job as a coaching staff to put him in a position to get him some comfort. Our players have to get him some protection and we have to do some things better. That’s on all of us to work on that. It’s not on any one guy. You talk about affecting the quarterback, they did that to him and in a big way.”

It’s easy to be frustrated with Terry right now, but there’s plenty of blame to go around for tonight’s loss. Here’s hoping the bye week helps the Cats rediscover their mojo.
