Stuff You Missed From Atlanta's EYBL

[caption id="attachment_200296" align="alignnone" width="600"] @D1circuit[/caption] The three-day event in Suwannee, Georgia finished this afternoon, effectively ending the regular season on the Nike basketball circuit until the finals at the Peach Jam in July.  If you haven't paid attention until today, here's what you've missed.

Plenty of People want to Visit UK

Trae Young was the first to say he's definitely taking an official visit to Kentucky, but Calipari's top point guard target is not alone. After trimming his list to 12 earlier this week, small forward PJ Washington plans to take five official visits:  Kentucky, North Carolina, Texas, Oregon and Arizona. One of the most curious cases in the recruiting world is the class of 2017's #1 player, 7-foot center DeAndre Ayton.  Just a few weeks ago he told reporters that every school had quit recruiting him, other than Kansas.  That opened the door for more teams to get involved.  The West Coast kid says he's been hearing a lot from UCLA, Arizona State and Arizona, where he plans on visiting in June.  Ayton also wants to visit Kansas and Kentucky.

Bamba hasn't Disappeared

We heard a lot about the #2 player in America after the first weekend session, but the 7-foot center has fallen off the news feed since then.  It's not because Mohammad Bamba is playing poorly, it's because he's been hurt, nursing a foot injury for the last two weeks.

This Guy Gets Buckets

[caption id="attachment_200308" align="alignnone" width="533"] @jacklegwin[/caption] You're looking at Collin Sexton, a 4-star point guard ranked #65 overall by the 247 Composite Rankings.  The regular season scoring champ averaged 31.7 points a game.  This weekend he averaged 34.8 points a game, no big deal.  Sexton has offers from Florida, Texas, Kansas and Arizona.

Wendell Carter is High on UK

The 6'10" post player had one of the best performances of the weekend, dropping 33 Saturday afternoon.  A little later on he told ZagsBlog, "Kentucky would be higher for me," Carter Jr. said. "They are known for getting players to the NBA, that's what they do best." People feel that he's a strong Duke lean, but he doesn't consider it that way.  He's also looking at Harvard and a few other schools with Gary Trent Jr.  In that same interview he said they are "definitely" going to school together. One package deal that is still on the table are the MOKAN teammates, Trae Young and Michael Porter Jr., however they aren't as adamant about attending school together as Carter and Trent.  That's good news for Kentucky, who was cut from Porter Jr.'s list last week.

Trae Young is a BEAST

Calipari's top point guard prospect continues to improve.  After starting his Saturday with 23 points, he went for 40 all while dishing out 11 assists.  His list will be shrinking soon, but Kentucky will surely be there.  If you need to know more about Young, this article should help.

These Guys are Good
