Stuff You Missed from the NBA Combine

40-0 Talk Returns

And it's not from fans.  Marcus Lee brought it up when he was asked how good the Cats could be next season if he returns to school.

"I honestly don’t think we’ll lose at all next year if I return."

That's a big "if" after telling reporters that he's 87% sure he'll head to the NBA.  It isn't the first time he's been involved in the 40-0 talk, which started way back in 2014 at the McDonald's All-American Game.

Skal's is Working Out and Interviewing

Skal isn't participating in combine drills this week, but he's working out with individual teams and being interviewed by a variety of teams.  Phoenix, Philadelphia and New Orleans are just a few teams he's spoke with. Even though he's never been seen as a physical player, he's pitching to teams that he's tough, telling Paul Coro:

"I think I'm one of the toughest kids in the draft after everything I've been through, coming from Haiti & the earthquake."

An Accurate Statement from Mr. Ulis

As one of the shortest players in the draft, Tyler's height has been a hot topic of discussion, especially from the national media.  In pre-combine interviews, he told NBA.com that he'd be at the top of everyone's draft board if he only had a few more inches.

"I feel like if I was 6-1, 6-2 I'd be No. 1 or No. 2," Ulis said. "But I'm not 6-1, 6-2. I'm 5-9. I got what I have, I love it, I feel like I've worked for what I got. I'm just going to keep playing."

The Strangest News of the Day

Marcus Lee and Kyle Wiltjer share the same vertical leap.  They both maxed out at 35.5 inches.  I don't know how to react to that.  That just doesn't seem possible.  I can't explain it.

He ran the lane agility drill at a time of 10.80 seconds and a three-quarter court sprint of 3.20 seconds, good for fourth-best overall.  He's interviewed with nine teams total, including San Antonio, Memphis, Detroit and Philadelphia.
