Sunday, Sunday

The Cats performed admirably in what ended up being a COLD night at Commonwealth Stadium (making my decision to wear flip flops seem not the best). For the better part of the game, they looked the physical equal of the Gamecocks and (as my optimistic Cat Fans will remind me), had a pass to tie the game with time expiring. However, there is still a great deal to be concerned about, including our absolute inability to do anything with a quarterback who decides to run the ball. Steve Spurrier obviously had the team well-scouted and designed multiple quarterback draws for which Kentucky had no answer. When a coach calls a designed quarterback run on 3rd and 12....well folks there is a defensive scheme problem. Having said that, a fun night and we will have more breakdowns as the day progresses. I am off to work (shame, shame) and then to a taping of Episode 9, "The Recruiting Special at the Kentucky Sports Radio studios. We are scheduled to be joined by Jai Lucas, Marshall Moses and potentially a couple of other gems, so be ready for the breakdown this evening. In addition, use the Intern's Keeneland wagers below....trust me, he knows his stuff on this. And as for my four star lock of the week.....hey we lose some every once in a while. 5-1 is still fairly good.
